MONDAY, APRIL 15   |   SELFIE VIDEO

Promote your session so attendees can get to know you prior to the conference.
The more fun, creative, and casual you can be, the better! 

Option 1: Create Your Own Video
  • Introduce yourself and provide a brief session description brief session description.
  • Can be done via smartphone, laptop, computer or anything with a video camera.
  • Videos should be no longer than 1 minute.
  • Sample Videos: Sample #1, Sample #2, Sample #3.
  • Please do not post the video. E-mail it to Olivia.Roma@emeraldexpo.com.
Option 2: Interview with CSC
  • Brief Q&A interview with a CSC team member that will be converted into a video.

Gain exposure in the largest magazine in the CS Industry!
We will also mention that viewers can see you at CSC.

Option 1: Create Your Own Article
  • Informative article on any CS topic.
  • Avoid using content from the session as we want attendees to see you at CSC.
  • Requirements: 600-800 words, author's name, job title, school/organization, and bio.
  • Sample Articles: Sample #1, Sample #2, Sample #3.
  • Please do not post the article. E-mail it to Olivia.Roma@emeraldexpo.com.
Option 2: Interview with CSC
  • Brief Q&A interview with a CSC team member that will be converted into an article.

MONDAY, MAY 20   |   PRESENTATION DUE
We encourage you to meet this deadline to allow us enough time to review all of the presentations.

Notes/Requirements
  • Use the CSC PPT template provided including intro and closing slides.
  • Refer to the template for directions on how to change slide layouts.
  • Credit every source.
  • When creating the presentation, refer to 1 slide per minute, avoid using a lot of text, get creative, and feel free
    to get creative and use images, videos, tables, graphs etc. The more creative, the better!
  • Review the session title, description, and attendee takeaways to ensure content it meeting attendee's expectations.
  • Practice the presentation to ensure it can be done within the assigned time slot. Include 10 minutes for intro, closing, and Q&A.
  • All speakers are responsible for printing and providing their own handouts.
  • All presentations will be provided to attendees post conference in a locked pdf format on a hidden website page.
  • When completed, e-mail the presentation in the CSC PPT Template to Olivia.Roma@emeraldexpo.com via WeTransfer.

ALL SPEAKERS/SESSIONS
Prior to Arrival
  • Get involved as much as possible i.e. videos, articles, etc. See deadlines for more info.
  • Promote your session to your audience i.e. e-mails, social media etc. See social media and marketing for more info.
  • Take advantage of the CSC discounted hotel rates, prior to the deadline or selling out. See hotel and travel for more info.
  • Submit the presentation before Monday, May 20 using the CSC PPT template. Refer to the deadlines section for more info. See deadlines for more info.
Arrival
  • Check in at attendee registration to collect your name badge and speaker ribbon.
  • CSC will have a copy of your presentation just in case.
  • Make sure you have your laptop and handouts (if applicable) with you as CSC will not be providing them. 
Before, During, and After the Session
  • Arrive to the session room 15-20 minutes prior to ensure you have enough time to setup and meet your room monitor.
  • A room monitor will be assigned to your session to assist with AV, evaluations, and staying on schedule.
  • Remind attendees to complete and turn in the evaluations. They help CSC determine future speakers and sessions, provide
    feedback to speakers, and determine if sessions met attendee's expectations. 

PRE-CONFERENCE, KEYNOTES, BREAKOUTS, GENERAL SESSIONS, AND WORKSHOPS

Setup (subject to change)
  • Rounds with 8-10 people per table.
  • 1 Podium.
  • 1 Barstool.
AV
  • 1 Projector with Screen (Keynotes & General Sessions will have 2)
  • Cords and adapters to connect your laptop to the projector. If you have an Apple product, please bring an adapter just in case.
  • Wireless lav or handheld microphone (some rooms might not have this as it is not required).
  • 1-2 Wireless handheld microphones for audience Q&A (Keynotes and General Sessions ONLY)
  • Wifi (All sessions except the Pre-Conferences). Please notify Olivia Roma if you need a hard wired connection.
  • IMPORTANT: Please bring your laptop as we will not have one available.

  • These sessions are primarily focused on having open roundtable discussions with one another.

Speaker Registration

  • A CSC team member will register you for the conference.
  • If you would like to attend a workshop on the last day of the conference (included in the registration fee),

  • Each speaker will receive 1 guest pass to the conference for each CSC19 location they are participating in (SAVE $599+).
