Campus Safety Conference Cancels 2020 Events

After closely monitoring the risk and impact of COVID-19 on a daily basis, and speaking at length with members of our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Campus Safety Conferences, which had been scheduled for June 15-17 in Las Vegas, NV; July 12-14 in Bethesda, MD; and July 26-28 in San Antonio, TX.

It has been made impossible to effectively execute Campus Safety Conferences that deliver the level of connection, discovery and value our community expects. This is due to developments regarding COVID-19 that we are all familiar with at this point, including, but not limited to, the declaration of a National State of Emergency; various states of emergency across the nation; the latest federal measures, including guidelines on the phased reopening of the U.S. economy; the declaration by the WHO of COVID-19 as a pandemic; the number of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; current quarantines, containment areas, stay at home orders, and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies. Maintaining the health and safety of each of our customers, partners, and employees remains paramount to us.

Despite cancelling our in-person June and July conferences, we are committed to keeping us all connected because it’s with the help of each other that we move forward. As the largest network of security, public safety, emergency management, administration, facilities, business, and IT professionals from higher education and K-12 campuses, we are doing everything we can to leverage that for the health and safety of our industry.

Campus Safety has a number of products and services focused on helping our community remain connected and informed, including:

  • The Campus Safety Online Summit virtual event will be held twice this year. We’ll host one this summer on July 7-8 and another on December 1-2, 2020.
  • Both COVID-19 specific and school/university/hospital safety and security news, up-to-the-minute editorial coverage and interviews can be found on CampusSafetyMagazine.com
  • Watch the latest interviews from Charles County School District and Northern Virginia Community College on their response to COVID-19 on Campus Safety HQ, our 24/7 online library of resources and training.

In addition, CSC is returning to Las Vegas, NV, Bethesda, MD, and San Antonio, TX for the summer of 2021! We’ll keep you informed as details come together and plans become actions.

The information on our website will be updated on an ongoing basis and further announcements will be posted in the coming days and weeks, including specifics on attendee and exhibitor questions.

We at Campus Safety value your ongoing loyalty and our thoughts are with all of you during this time.

Stay safe, stay healthy.

“I’ve been to many conferences in my 35 years in campus law enforcement. CSC has consistently offered and delivered quality and relevant content and outstanding presenters. “
